This Blog Life

Hey ladies! It’s been a long time right, I know don’t judge me! August hasn’t been the best so far, however the month isn’t over and I can only pray for a much better month of August. Starting my blog has been very interesting to say the least, but to be honest blogging isn’t as easy as most portray it to be, especially when you have a full plate as it is. However a busy consistent lifestyle is what creates great blog content in my opinion. However there are 3 things that I would have done a bit differently when creating Bougie Black Girl Chronicles.

1. Conduct More Research: I basically learned blogging as I went along. I received advice from other bloggers, and even from my subscribers. In the beginning my content was very difficult to come up with, but one day I basically sat and brainstormed and thought of many other topics I thought needed to be addressed within my plate-form. Just as you would create an outline for a research paper, doing this for a blog post allows you to organize and gather all your thoughts.

2. Staying Consistent: Consistency is key and sometimes that can be really hard when you have a million other things to complete. The one thing I have learned is that you make time for things you want to see succeed.

3. Growing my audience: I truly believed that most of my supporters would be mostly friends and family however to be completely honest I received most if not all my support from complete strangers. Aim beyond your normal social circle to grow your audience, and don’t solely rely on your friends and family to help promote your vision. I used all plate-forms to grow my subscribers, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and even by simply joining Facebook groups dedicated to blogging. This thing definitely takes time so have patience you’ll see results in no time.

I love being able to share my thoughts with you ladies, and even assisting those who desire starting their own blogs. However you must remember to not become discouraged when you aren’t receiving the results you believe your blogs should be getting, it’s so much better to watch the growth whether it’s fast or slow. Trust me it will all be worth it in the end.
